Perhaps one of the oldest methods of jewelry
construction, traditional wirecraft uses only hand tools and tension to
achieve a graceful, elegant presentation of the wondrous and varied
gemstone gifts of the earth.
Forgoing the use of solder, glue or other electric/mechanical aids,
one is initially struck by the limitations of this craft. Probing
deeper, the craftsman finds opportunity for expression in the simplest
terms; line, space and color.
As a self taught artisan, each piece in my display is designed and
executed by my hand, from the first wire cut to the final buffing and
cleaning. In my work I choose to present the finest of natural,
semi-precious gemstones and truly exotic minerals, hand selected from
the source by my spouse, Suzanne, and myself. Many of our stones are cut
by domestic lapidaries and some by Suzanne in her own home studio.
We are committed to full disclosure of all gemstone enhancement,
offering only those generally accepted by the trade for both durability
and value.
My preferred metal is 14/10 G.F. or double gold-filled . I have
chosen this material for its beauty, durability and ease of use. 14kt
gold is reserved for high value pieces, while double gold-filled
makes exceptional gemstone jewelry accessible to a wide range of
patrons.
My work is not intended for the bank vault and rare special occasion,
but to lovingly grace the neck, hand and ear on a daily basis.
